Para qué sirve

EasyLine tackles the difficulties faced by women with limited hand mobility, during menstrual hygiene management. EasyLine provides a comfortable and secure single-hand solution, enhancing independence and dignity during physiological cycles.

Qué te inspiró

My inspiration for EasyLine came from witnessing the silent challenges faced by a limb-different woman. I watched a video vlogger without hands sharing her struggle to change a sanitary pad – an act most take for granted. Her perseverance inspired me. Then I immersed ourselves in community feedback, learning how difficult it is for these women to accomplish the seemingly simple thing. Our mission was to empower individuals with underdeveloped hands by enhancing their ability to complete menstrual care like a normal person. EasyLine embodies inclusive design’s potential to positively impact lives.

Cómo funciona

EasyLine consists of a three-fold structure sanitary napkin and a spring-top outer packaging. The sanitary napkin is secured with an elastic cord and is used as an aid to stabilize the upper limb, allowing the user to easily take the sanitary napkin out of the package. This elastic cord also acts as an important helper for users when discarding the sanitary napkin; by pulling the cord with their arm, the sanitary napkin shrinks and detaches to avoid contaminating the arm. The adhesive backing of the lamination is designed with raised edges and utilizes the self-adhesive properties of medical gauze, making it easy to peel off. The development process involved multiple rounds of prototype testing and iterative improvements. In summary, EasyLine cleverly applies structural design to sanitary napkins, providing an effective solution.

Proceso de diseño

The design process for EasyLine begins with understanding the challenges faced by individuals with the same condition. Using design thinking, I empathize with users, define requirements, conceive solutions, prototype and test. User research is mainly based on observation, and I have collected a large number of information on the use of sanitary napkins by women with disabilities, and summarized the common pain points. Start by sketching the design and retrofitting it on existing sanitary napkins for the quickest and most cost-effective prototype. Since it was difficult to find a participant in a woman with a hand disability, I tied the hands of healthy women, tested the prototype, and got feedback. By constantly adjusting the structure and the materials used. The prototype passed the test from removal, pasting, and discarding. In the end, EasyLine combines innovative design with usability to provide a viable and effective solution.

Qué lo hace diferente

EasyLine stands out for its inclusivity. The vast majority of existing sanitary napkins are only considered for healthy women, and do not take into account the needs of vulnerable populations, such as visually impaired and physically handicapped female users. EasyLine focuses on the needs of women with hand disabilities, who are often marginalized by society and silently tolerate products that are not suitable. Especially for menstrual care, which is related to women's physical health, it is still overlooked. Our user-centric, empathy-based processes set EasyLine apart and have been tested to ensure it meets the needs of the user. In a scenario that many ordinary people take for granted, the needs of people with disabilities are not seen. EasyLine fills this gap in menstrual care with a practical, comfortable and user-friendly solution.

Planes para el futuro

EasyLine's future plans include expanding its reach and putting it into real production. We want to communicate more deeply with multiple users, improve through test feedback, and explore more suitable new materials and technologies. And the importance of the product will be promoted through marketing campaigns, so that people and sanitary napkin manufacturers will pay more attention to the group of women with hand disabilities. We will also be researching sustainable materials, with environmental protection as a highlight of this product. These steps will ensure that EasyLine has a meaningful impact on a wide range of women.
