What it does
Infinity X reduces human involvement in risky high altitude welding tasks, minimizing the potential risks, optimizing welding at height workflow, increasing efficiency, and reducing labor costs of the implementation, material waste & pollution.
Your inspiration
The idea comes from the news that I saw when I took an exchange program at TU Delft. I saw there are two workers who fell while working at height because of a lack of safety procedures. I was traveling around Europe at the time and used a drone to capture some photos while traveling. So I came up with an idea: why not use a drone to take over this dangerous task?
How it works
Traditional high-altitude welding exposes workers to falls, fumes, and extreme heat. Infinity X transforms this process by boosting safety, efficiency, and sustainability in high-risk environments. It combines AI-driven path planning, real-time adjustments, and drone technology to automate welding tasks at height. The drone scans the environment and sends data to a PC, where tasks are assigned remotely. AI then analyzes 3D models, plans precise welding paths, and adjusts parameters in real time to reduce material waste and energy use. This improves accuracy, lowers labor costs, and speeds up project timelines. Infinity X reduces injuries and improves job site safety by handling dangerous tasks. It's a smart use of resources that also cuts emissions, waste, and noise, supporting greener construction. Adaptable and efficient, Infinity X is built for industries focused on safety, sustainability, and long-term value.
Design process
The design process began with research into the risks of high-altitude welding. We interviewed welders and site managers to understand key pain points: danger, fatigue, and inefficiency. Early ideation explored how drones could remove workers from hazardous tasks. The first concept prototype featured a drone with a robotic arm to simulate welding operations. Based on further research and input from professionals, we realized the need for greater stability during welding. This led to a second concept featuring a perching mechanism that allows the drone to anchor to surfaces while working. We also look at the bird perching mechanism, but then change to a vacuum generator for wider application. We developed a UI concept on the software side that includes real-time AI adjustment for precise path planning and parameter control. Each stage was shaped by user feedback and iterative exploration to create a safer, smarter welding solution.
How it is different
The Infinity X welding system is distinctive for its seamless integration of drone technology and AI-driven optimization, reducing the need for human involvement in hazardous environments. It competes in the market by offering a comprehensive solution addressing safety, efficiency, and sustainability more effectively than conventional human-forced systems. By prioritizing safety, sustainability, and efficiency, Infinity X reinforces the brand's commitment to advanced, user-centric solutions in industrial environments.
Future plans
I hope to find engineers and professionals to really make it and replace dangerous task. We believe it can benefit all the stake holders and also contribute to a smarter, greener and better future.
