What it does

CloudBreath, a versatile breathing assistance device designed for sleep apnea and respiratory training. It use negative pressure to support breathing during sleep, which also offers guided breathing exercises, promoting relaxation, lung health, and well-being.

Your inspiration

Sleep apnea disrupts sleep, causing fatigue and serious health risks, while traditional CPAP machines are bulky, noisy, and uncomfortable, leading to low compliance. Inspired by these challenges, we created CloudBreat,a compact, aesthetic solution combining negative pressure airflow with real-time heart rate and respiratory monitoring. Designed for comfort and ease of use, it supports breathing during sleep without the inconvenience of traditional systems. Additionally, CloudBreath includes a respiratory training feature to promote relaxation and lung health. This device provides a user-friendly way to improving sleep quality and well-being.

How it works

The design of CloudBreath focuses on simplicity, comfort, and effectiveness, making it easy to use for anyone struggling with sleep apnea. Here’s how it works: The device is worn just below the nostrils, where its soft silicone edges create a gentle, secure fit. Inside, advanced sensors continuously monitor your breathing patterns. If the device detects a pause or irregularity in your breathing—common during sleep apnea—it activates a small, quiet air pump. This air pump creates a tiny amount of suction, also known as negative pressure, which generates a gentle airflow through the two small openings placed under your nose. This airflow helps keep your airways open, allowing you to breathe naturally again without interruption. Additionally, the device tracks heart rate and breathing data, providing insights through a connected app. With its smart airflow system, CloudBreath offers a comfortable, effective solution for better sleep and breathing.

Design process

The journey of CloudBreath began with identifying the challenges of traditional sleep apnea treatments—bulky, uncomfortable devices that users often abandon. The concept started with a question: How can we make breathing assistance smaller, simpler, and more user-friendly? Inspired by the soft, calming form of clouds, the design took shape as a compact and ergonomic device that fits discreetly below the nostrils. Initial prototypes used basic materials like silicone molds for the fit and small fans to test airflow. We quickly realized the need for quieter, more precise airflow generation, leading us to develop a micro air pump capable of creating consistent negative pressure. Early versions were tested for comfort, ensuring the silicone edges provided a snug yet gentle seal under the nose. We integrated advanced sensors to detect breathing patterns and a Bluetooth module to track data in real-time. Through iterations, we minimized size, improved battery life, and refined airflow delivery for seamless operation. Each step focused on merging comfort, technology, and functionality into a modern, user-friendly device.

How it is different

What makes CloudBreath unique is its combination of compact design, advanced technology, and user-centric functionality. Unlike bulky CPAP machines, CloudBreath is lightweight, discreet, and fits comfortably below the nostrils without masks or hoses. Its innovative negative pressure system gently generates airflow only when needed, ensuring seamless breathing support without constant noise or discomfort. Additionally, it integrates real-time heart rate and breathing monitors, offering valuable health insights through a connected app—something many traditional devices lack. With its dual function of sleep apnea support and guided respiratory training, CloudBreath not only improves sleep but also promotes relaxation and long-term lung health. It’s modern, effective, and designed for real-life ease.

Future plans

The future of CloudBreath focuses on enhancing personalization and expanding its functionality. We aim to integrate AI-driven algorithms for even more precise breathing pattern analysis and adaptive airflow support tailored to individual needs. Future iterations will include improved battery life, wireless charging, and even smaller, lighter designs for ultimate portability. We also plan to improve and update the respiratory training features with guided exercises for stress relief and lung health. Our goal is to build a holistic device that supports sleep, wellness, and overall health seamlessly.
