Deine Inspiration

The inspiration for CozyPur came from observing the stress veterinarians and pet owners face when handling aggressive or anxious cats during injections. Traditional carriers often lack accessibility and calming features, leading to unsafe, high-stress procedures. While feline restraint methods aim to reduce stress, they often increase fear and lead to more aggressive behaviour. After witnessing a veterinarian struggle to inject a frightened cat, I saw the need for a more thoughtful solution. CozyPur was designed to combine comfort, safety, and accessibility — making medical procedures easier for both cats and handlers.

CozyPur is a cat carrier specially designed to support safe and stress-free veterinary procedures, especially injections. Its interior is lined with soft padding to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety, while built-in ventilation panels maintain airflow. A pheromone diffuser releases calming scents to soothe aggressive or anxious cats. A key feature is the adjustable top panels that slide down to gently limit space inside, helping to calm and stabilise the cat. Sliding side panels allow specific areas—like the leg or back—to be exposed for injections without removing the cat. A gentle inner restraint system provides added support without harm. A built-in digital screen monitors health indicators like temperature, offering real-time feedback. Lightweight and ergonomic, CozyPur is easy to carry and use in clinical or home settings.

Designprozess

The design process for CozyPur began with field observation and empathy research. I visited veterinary clinics and interviewed veterinarians and cat owners to understand the challenges of handling aggressive or anxious cats during injections. These insights guided initial sketches focused on safety, accessibility, and stress reduction. Early prototypes made from cardboard and foam explored scale, access points, and interior layout. The first version included basic side openings for injection but lacked proper restraint and adjustability. Feedback highlighted the need for more secure and calming features. In the second prototype, I added sliding top panels to limit interior space, helping to calm the cat and prevent sudden movements. Adjustable side panels were introduced to provide targeted access to the cat’s body. Material testing followed, prioritising lightweight, durable, and easy-to-clean surfaces. A pheromone diffuser and soft padded interior were added to enhance comfort. The latest version features a digital health monitor, ergonomic handle, and secure closures. Each iteration was refined based on real user feedback. CozyPur continues to evolve, with future potential for smart features and modular veterinary add-ons.

The next step for CozyPur is to develop a fully functional prototype using durable, medical-grade materials for real-world testing in veterinary clinics. I plan to collaborate with pet care professionals to refine its features further. Long-term goals include launching a small-scale production through crowdfunding and exploring partnerships with pet brands or clinics. Ultimately, I hope to bring CozyPur to market as a go-to solution for stress-free feline care, improving safety and comfort during veterinary procedures worldwide.
