ARMC is a wearable artificial pancreas for diabetics patient

Inspiración

Most of the patients who suffer from diabetes are less likely to suffer from pancreatic cancer, which requires continuous supply of insulin. Many of them, however, are reluctant to deal with their physical and psychological objections to insulin shots. Because it's a hassle, and it's a constant time of constant injection, and the fear of being treated as addichted drug and no longer being able to carry on a daily routine. I needed a solution that was no longer in the way of discouraging them from being uncomfortable and not feeling despair about being a diabetic.

ARMC is a wearable artificial pancreas for diabetics patient. It measures the blood glucose information with the built-in blood glucose meter in the device, transmits the data to the cell phone application through the Bluetooth, and continuously calculates the amount of insulin required through the application. It is an artificial pancreas that automatically supplies the diabetic patient with the insulin pump installed in the ARMC. The application continuously analyzes the diabetes through recorded blood glucose and insulin dosage data and can be used for medical treatment.
The insulin refill method is the same as the conventional insulin pump. It uses the same charging terminal as a smart phone, so it can charge easily.

We know that insulin therapy interferes with the normal daily life of diabetic patients, and we have begun to design to improve it. We aimed at a wearable device that automatically injects insulin by the amount needed when needed. During the study, we came to know a product called the artificial pancreas. The artificial pancreas is an insulin pump that constantly injects a certain amount of insulin,with automatically adjusts insulin dosage while continuous glucose monitoring system. Diabetic patients often use diy artificial pancreas, which is open-sourced. The function of this is the same as our idea, but there was a problem that the design was not neat. This is a combination of several products,insuline pump, portable battery, continuous glucose measuring instrument..., many to carry around, and the volume of the product was larger than necessary. It is a design that should cover wires and devices by clothes. So we designed a wearable device that does not need to be hidden in clothes. By removing both the display and the buttons of the product and controlling it through the smartphone application, the volume of the product is minimized.
