What it does

The design ensures the integration of the necessary functional structures, maximizes the degree of integration and ease of handling of the equipment, and improves the efficiency of firefighting operations and safety evacuation


Your inspiration

Due to the increase in extreme weather in recent years, the ability to prevent and control forest fires needs to be further enhanced. Combining the technological advances made in recent years in the fields of communications, materials science, new energy, machinery and other scientific and technological fields, a whole set of conceptual designs to strengthen the ability of forest firefighting is proposed


How it works

Considering the six dimensions of fire-fighting operations, namely division of functions, information transfer, fire-fighting mode, manoeuvre mode, resource mobilisation and emergency evacuation, and combining them with the existing technologies, we have proposed a number of concepts for use, such as a vacuum fire cover for emergency evacuation, which is used to escape from the fire scene by opening the safety catches; a whole body equipped with a one-button unlocked emergency safety lock; and a portable drone used to scan for subterranean fires after extinguishing surface fires


Design process

My design is to summarise the required functions combined with the man-machine, and allocate the functions through the body parts, from the communication function of the head, the emergency avoidance function of the neck, the cooling device and oxygen supply system of the back, the fire-fighting equipment module interface of the arm, the motion-assisted exoskeleton at the joints, the monitoring of the hand signs, the modular drone on the chest to the whole body protection coverage, and to arrange the functions in a rational way, and to simulate the use of the man-machine through the man-machine Efficiency is optimised


How it is different

Aiming at the existing technology combined with the combat command system to put forward a relatively complete set of concepts for the use of innovation, the design process using a variety of technical means of design assistance, the realization of the simulation of human-machine ratio, clothing panels, color materials, and other aspects of the exploration of human-machine scale to assist in adjusting and determining the human-machine scale, to help complete the design of a set of more complex human body-fitted equipment morphology


Future plans

I see this type of conceptual design as an inspiration for innovation in usage and an advocate for sustainability, and while it's basically what can be achieved with existing technology, the actual costs have not been evaluated and tested, and I'd be very happy to commit to such an endeavor if there's an opportunity to translate it
