What it does
The loaded zebra crossing system cleverly integrates high-brightness street lights, intelligent traffic signal devices and dynamic loaded luminous zebra crossings.
Your inspiration
At intersections around the world, we have noticed that pedestrians are generally disorderly and have low compliance with rules. Especially during rush hour, when a large number of pedestrians gather and wait, their restlessness is clearly visible. This chaotic scene of rule failure and rush hour traffic anxiety are the core driving forces behind our design of this product. We aim to transform passive waiting into active and efficient guidance, fundamentally solving the pain points of intersection traffic order and pedestrian experience.
How it works
Technically, the product includes a portrait capture system that determines the number of people waiting for traffic lights in real time, changing the previous mode of controlling traffic light time by judging the number of vehicles to judging the number of people. When the number of people reaches a short-term peak, the projection equipment starts to project zebra crossings on the ground (the ground no longer has zebra crossings drawn on it), and guides the speed of pedestrians through the projection speed, and eliminates zebra crossings close to the starting point to avoid the problem of long intersections and short green light time, which prevents pedestrians from being unable to pass through the intersection completely.
Design process
We first established the core goal: to use active light signals to guide pedestrians to pass quickly and safely. Then, we verified the feasibility of key technologies, and finally chose smart sensors to accurately detect waiting pedestrians, and designed embedded light strips as zebra crossing light sources. The prototype production went through three important iterations: the first generation verified the basic functions but was slow to respond and not durable; the second generation optimized the control chip to improve the response speed and strengthen the structure; the third generation added smarter functions, such as automatically extending the green light time for the elderly and children, and adding countdown breathing lights and interesting ground projections to relieve anxiety during waiting, and achieved remarkable results in the pilot at the actual intersection. In the end, we adopted a modular design for easy installation and maintenance, and equipped it with a backup power supply to ensure reliability, successfully transforming the concept into a practical product that can truly improve the safety and efficiency of intersections.
How it is different
Through the combined perception of pressure and vision, the intention of pedestrians is accurately captured, and the high-brightness LED light strip is triggered to instantly build a "light channel", and the dual signal lights are synchronously linked to realize the intelligent switching of pedestrian and vehicle right of way; and the dynamic algorithm is designed to extend the passage time for the elderly and children, combined with the breathing progress lights on the ground and interesting projections, for the first time, traffic control is upgraded to a safe passage experience of "anxiety relief + behavior guidance", redefining the order of intersections with the language of light.
Future plans
In the future, we will upgrade the millimeter-wave radar and AI vision fusion technology to accurately identify special states such as running and wheelchairs to dynamically adjust guidance strategies; develop emotion perception modules to automatically trigger soothing light effects and public welfare points interaction when crowds are detected to be stranded, turning waiting anxiety into positive energy incentives; at the same time, achieve energy autonomy through the integration of solar energy and piezoelectric power generation,
