What it does

ToothSense Tech is a caregiver designed for denture wearers that solves the problem of unhygienic, easily damaged and incompletely cleaned manually removed dentures, improving ease of care and oral health.

Your inspiration

The inspiration came from the realization that wearing dentures by elderly people at home is a great health and safety hazard. Removing dentures by hand is not only unhygienic and easy to cause damage to dentures, but also the cleaning process is cumbersome, with the problem of cross-infection and incomplete cleaning. In order to solve this pain point, we investigated the existing denture care tools and found that there is a lack of “safe removal” and “efficient cleaning” solutions in the market. Therefore, we proposed to design an innovative care device that can assist in the removal of dentures and realize portable cleaning at the same time

How it works

ToothSense Tech realizes efficient denture care from removal to cleaning by integrating an ergonomic removal structure with portable ultrasonic cleaning technology. Users can use the soft silicone clamping device to easily remove dentures without contact, avoiding cross-infection and damage, and then put the dentures into the ultrasonic cleaning tank, through the micro-bubbles generated by high-frequency vibration to strip away dirt and bacteria, completing the deep sterilization and cleaning, the operation is convenient, especially suitable for the elderly daily use.

Design process

In the conceptual stage, we tried various structures such as hook clamp, air pressure adsorption, soft rubber clamp, etc., and finally chose the ergonomic soft silicone clamping head, which takes into account oral comfort and clamping stability; at the same time, we decided to use micro-ultrasonic wave as the principle of cleaning, and explored the integration of the structure with the removal of the solution. In the prototyping, we completed the overall design through 3D modeling, used soft silicone to sample the clamping head and tested the adaptability several times, and disassembled the cleaning module based on commercially available ultrasonic devices and improved the circuitry to make it more suitable for handheld and portable use.

How it is different

ToothSense Tech is different from traditional products in that it integrates “safe removal” and “efficient cleaning” into a single unit. It adopts an ergonomic soft silicone clamping structure to avoid damage and infection, and is equipped with a portable ultrasonic cleaning module to improve cleaning efficiency and hygiene. Future plans

In the future, ToothSense Tech will continue to optimize the product structure and experience, develop supporting products such as special cleaning solutions, apply for patents and certifications, explore AI intelligent care functions, and expand the market by linking dental institutions and aging platforms to build systematic and intelligent denture care solutions.
