What it does

This is an automated wardrobe that integrates intelligent organization, garment transportation, care, and styling assistance. It caters to users seeking a seamless, high-tech home experience while solving common challenges in outfit coordination

Your inspiration

Through market research, we identified that affluent households often struggle with wardrobe organization and seek advanced smart furniture to elevate their living spaces. Drawing inspiration from high-tech rotating wardrobes, robotic arm advancements, and modern garment care systems, we developed a futuristic wardrobe that blends automation with practicality.

How it works

The wardrobe is divided into four key zones: 1. Garment Hanging Zone – Features a dual-layer hanging system, with an upper rail adjustable via electric lift or robotic arm. 2. Garment Care Zone – Includes a built-in steamer, dehumidifier, and sterilization functions, alongside a central smart mirror with an embedded control panel. The mirror doubles as a rotating full-length display for outfit checks. 3. Robotic Arm Zone – The core of automation, featuring an AI-driven robotic arm on a rail system. It retrieves, stores, and organizes clothing while displaying interactive expressions on its LCD screen. 4. Drawer Storage Zone – Optimized for folded garments and accessories.

Design process

Our initial prototype was compact, with limited hanging space and a conventional conveyor belt system, lacking futuristic appeal. Through iterative refinement, we expanded the wardrobe’s dimensions, replaced manual doors with an automatic retractable curtain, and introduced the robotic arm for dynamic functionality. The material palette shifted from traditional wood to sleek metallic finishes, reinforcing a high-tech aesthetic.

How it is different

Unlike conventional wardrobes, our design prioritizes users with extensive hanging needs while introducing an emotionally intelligent robotic arm. While its dexterity is still evolving, its AI integration enables personalized outfit recommendations and responsive interactions.

Future plans

This project aligns with the Dyson Design Award ethos by addressing real-world problems through engineering innovation and elegant design. We strive to push boundaries in home automation, merging functionality with cutting-edge technology.
