Built SynVueAI, an AI-powered interview assistant using STT, TTS, and Gemini AI to simulate realistic voice interviews. Added a Resume Analyzer for smart feedback. Fixed all bugs from the users.

Your inspiration

A few months ago, I wanted to give a mock interview, but the high cost made it unaffordable. As a result, my first interview with a company became my real mock—and I failed. Not because I didn’t know the answers, but because I was nervous and struggled to frame my thoughts under pressure. That’s when I realized I’m not alone—many candidates face the same issue. I wanted to create an accessible solution to help people build confidence and improve communication. That’s how I came up with SynVueAI—an AI-powered online interview platform that simulates real interviews and provides resume analysis to support candidates end-to-end.

How it works

SynvueAI is designed to simulate real interview experiences using AI so users can practice and improve without needing a human interviewer. Here's how it works: Voice Interaction: Users speak their answers using a microphone. The system uses Speech-to-Text (STT) technology to convert their voice into written text so the AI can understand it. AI Response: We use Gemini AI (a powerful language model) to analyze what the user says and respond with follow-up questions or feedback—just like a real interviewer would. Speaking Back: Once the AI generates a response, we use Text-to-Speech (TTS) to turn the AI's reply into a natural-sounding voice, creating a smooth conversation flow. Resume Analyzer: Users can upload their resumes. The system scans them, compares them with a target job description, and gives helpful tips—like missing keywords or formatting issues—so the resume becomes more attractive to employers.

Design process

The platform starts with user login, leading to a dashboard with two main features: Create Interview and Resume Analyzer (under development). In Create Interview, users input their job role, domain, job description, duration, and interview type (HR, tech, etc.). The system uses these inputs to generate a set of personalized questions. Once created, a unique interview link is generated, and users can attend the session via voice. I developed a custom voice agent using STT, TTS, and Gemini AI, enabling real-time, lifelike interview conversations. Supporting pages like Billing, Feedback, and Contact Us enhance usability and user trust. I built the first prototype focusing on the voice experience, tested it with peers, and fixed all reported bugs. The platform is now 75% complete with the core flow live at https://synvue-ai.vercel.app. I aim to finish the Resume Analyzer soon and officially launch it.

How it is different

What makes SynVueAI unique is its custom-built voice and AI stack that prioritizes affordability and stability. Unlike platforms using expensive services like Vapi AI (₹5–10/min or $0.06–$0.12), I built a custom voice agent using browser-based JavaScript STT/TTS, making voice processing completely free. For AI, I integrated Gemini a powerful model with ensuring long, crash-free interview sessions. With typical usage around 1,100 tokens per minute, the AI processing cost stays around ₹3/min (~$0.035) ~60% cheaper than alternatives. Combined with a smooth, fast UI built using Next.js, SynVueAI offers a reliable and highly accessible experience. Unlike others that are text-only, paywalled, or fragmented, SynVueAI brings real-time voice interviews and resume analysis together in a single, low-cost platform for everyone.

Future plans

Next, I’ll complete the Resume Analyzer to give ATS scores and suggestions. Users get 8 free SynVueCoins (1 coin = 1 min = ₹4.5 or ~$0.05). Resume checks cost 0.5 coin, and interview time deducts coins based on usage. I’ll also add a code compiler for technical interviews, enabling real-time coding inside mock sessions. Discounted bundles like 100 minutes for ₹370 (~$4.30) will make it scalable and affordable. Feedback from users will drive continuous improvement as I aim to build a complete, AI-powered career prep platform.

The platform has not yet been launched, so it has not been nominated for any awards yet. However, I believe that once SynVueAI is fully released, its innovation, accessibility, and impact on job preparation could earn it recognition in the future.
