What it does
A one-way translation smart wristband for the hearing-impaired group, which translates sign language into speech/text.
Your inspiration
It helps them achieve barrier-free communication in daily life, medical care, government affairs and other scenarios, and improves their social participation. It can serve as a tool to help doctors communicate with hearing-impaired patients in medical settings, especially in scenarios such as hospitals and rehabilitation centers, thereby improving the patient experience. Due to its low cost, portability, and convenience, the wristband can be widely promoted to cover more groups in need of communication assistance, such as hearing-impaired children and elderly people, thereby advancing the construction of an accessible society.
How it works
The wristband features a lightweight design to save costs. Face-to-face interaction with others is natural and dignified. It uses cutting-edge myoelectric technology to capture movements while protecting privacy. Simultaneously displaying voice and text, coupled with vibration motor feedback, enhances the controllability.
Design process
Control Chip & Wireless Communication A low-power microcontroller (such as Arduino Nano BLE) is used to establish real-time connection with the mobile APP via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Flexible Multi-modal Sensor Array The wristband is embedded with high-sensitivity electromyography (EMG) and inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors to accurately capture hand movements and muscle signals. Vibration Motor Feedback After translation is completed, the device automatically vibrates to remind users, helping them grasp the conversation rhythm and enhancing the interactive experience.
How it is different
AI semantic inference combines texts to improve accuracy. Deep learning models make natural language translation more appropriate and natural. It supports user-defined gestures to adapt to sign language dialects.
