What it does

By leveraging Dyson's unique air technology, we have eliminated the commonly found breathing masks in the market, reducing the medical device-like feel of the product and enhancing the psychological comfort of the users.


Your inspiration

Whenever I see the breathing masks or nasal tubes used with home oxygen machines, I always feel a sense of unease in my mind, as if I were a patient. Sometimes, children cannot use such products because of their naughty behavior. However, the cutting-edge technology of Dyson, the leader in the air purification field, just happens to be able to solve this problem with the oxygen masks.


How it works

The product has a total of 5 modes: 1. Oxygen for sleep adjustment 2. Automatic humidity regulation 3. Light environment awakening 4. Post-exercise recovery mode 5. Brain activity modeThis product utilizes a total of three technologies. In terms of generating oxygen, it uses the molecular sieve method to mix and humidify the oxygen before blowing it out. It employs the airflow amplification technology from Dyson, which uses a circular narrow slit to accelerate the jet flow and thereby enlarge the airflow. Additionally, it utilizes Dyson's air curtain technology, adding modifications behind the grille to create main and auxiliary exhaust outlets, forming a channel to make the oxygen more targeted.


Design process

Firstly, we targeted the product's audience at people with sleep problems. We then searched for some papers related to sleep issues, and based on that, decided to use oxygen as the medium to assist with sleep.We conducted a competitive product analysis, and the results are as follows: 1. The breathing mask is redundant and the experience after use is very poor. It is also difficult for children to use. 2. The medical attributes are too strong, causing psychological discomfort to the users. 3. The size is too large. 4. Some functions are single. Regarding this aspect, we set the following functions for him: the first one is the sleep mode, the second one is the post-exercise recovery mode, the third one is the brain exercise mode, and the last one is the humidity adjustment mode.In terms of product form design, we added an intelligent light activation feature to it. The light bands around the product will gradually increase in brightness as the day gets brighter, achieving the purpose of awakening. At the same time, when the wristband detects that you have awakened, it will also light up to provide illumination. We placed the rotary button on the side. Using unconscious operation, we set a strong damping effect and displayed the current gear position on the screen.

Future plans

We have set this design as a consumer-grade product. Our goal is to make the price accessible to the majority of people, so that the product can enter more households rather than only patient households. Later on, I hope to be able to conduct model printing and circuit design to make the product a reality.
