Design pain points: Traditional greening maintenance is highly dependent on manpower, facing problems such as aging labor, road operation risks, and lack of standardization of modeling and pruning, while the existing garden machinery often has a single function and insufficient intelligence, and it is difficult to adapt to diversified urban vegetation forms.
How it works
"This urban greening pruning robot takes the whole process of intelligent operation as the core: when the task is started, based on the green area and modeling requirements input from the cloud, it independently generates a 3D map and plans the bionic path, and the crawler chassis is designed with a low center of gravity to stabilize the slope and ditch. During the operation, the dual robotic arms are deployed like the dexterous ""metal gardener"" - the multi-axis joints drive the chainsaw module to expand and rotate freely, and the safety sawtooth dynamically adjusts the cutting force according to the pressure feedback, which can not only accurately prune overhanging branches and densely planted shrubs, but also avoid obstacles in real time through LiDAR. The negative pressure collection system under the outer cover of the fuselage synchronously sucks in the debris and leaves, and the warning light projects a ring light curtain to warn the periphery.
Design process
"The design of this urban green pruning robot began with the collision of mechanized order and fantasy violence—extracting the dynamic attack aesthetics of the chainsaw from ""Chainsaw Man"" and domesticating it into a regular operation logic like an urban sprinkler. In the early stage of the design, the urban greening and pruning work was investigated in depth, and the hand-drawn sketches balanced the functional tension of the robotic arm and the ecological curve of the plant. In the middle stage, a parametric model was constructed with the help of Rhino software, and the size and structure of the mechanical structure were repeatedly adjusted with reference to the morphology of various types of green plants. In terms of exterior design, C4D is used to render the collision between the blade highlight and the fuselage, and some color details are embedded in the seams. The iteration is constantly injected with human details: a work alert light is added to the branch and leaf collection box, and an integrated silent crushing module is added to the box. Finally, PS was used to adjust the better visual effect, and the product layout design was carried out, presenting a shocking narrative of ""urban greening surgery"".
How it is different
"The unique value of this urban greening pruning robot lies in the integration breakthrough of fully automatic precision operation system and multi-scene adaptability: different from manual pruning or traditional hedge trimmers with single functions that rely on manual experience, its dual flexible robotic arms are equipped with safety chainsaw modules, which can independently identify vegetation morphology and rotate and expand 360°, accurately completing a variety of complex shapes such as spherical and stacked shapes; At the same time, through the intelligent path planning system, it covers the daily task area in a standardized manner like a sprinkler truck, and combines laser obstacle avoidance and crawler chassis to automatically adapt to complex terrain such as ramps and curbs, so as to improve efficiency and ensure operation safety. In essence, it combines mechanized standard processes with flexible pruning capabilities,
Future plans
"The future planning of this design focuses on leveraging government cooperation through event exposure: using design awards as a lever, highlighting the core advantages of robots in international competitions of ""fully automatic standardized operation and intelligent cost reduction"", and shaping the industry perception of ""standard solutions for future urban greening""; At the same time, relying on the award to connect with local government pilot projects, priority will be given to the implementation of smart parks and new cities, and quantifiable pruning efficiency and safety accident rate reduction data
