What it does
Derived design with two-degree-of-freedom gyroscope. Rounded middle box feels friendly; bottom plate allows carrying/dragging. Eases cats' outing stress, working for both. Fits standard travel sizes, tested comfortable and ergonomic.
Your inspiration
Why solve this? It began with my cat "Sanyue". She grew depressed after outings, then showed clear stress. Research and a vet revealed this came from travel bumps and unfamiliarity—even fatal in severe cases. This drove me to act. Inspiration came from ancient China’s "bed warmer incense burner". It used a two-degree-of-freedom gyroscope to stay stable despite shaking. I applied this to a cat carrier: its gyroscopic balance keeps the inner compartment steady during movement, easing stress like Sanyue’s. This mix of ancient wisdom and modern pet needs is the core design.
How it works
The product's middle box is connected to the middle frame via two horizontal rotating shafts to enable horizontal rotation, while two vertical rotating shafts on the middle frame connect to the outer frame for vertical rotation, reducing (shaking) of the middle box. In simple terms, these assembled structures keep the middle box where the cat stays relatively stable. Thanks to the two-degree-of-freedom gyroscope balancing principle, the product is easy to use, allowing both pet owners and cats to handle travel scenarios with ease. Additionally, this cat carrier can also be used at home.
Design process
The process of making the product The product's design is the result of extensive derivation. The product model is further connected with the factory to solve the problen of linkstruc-ture, and the product is 3 printed into a plain mold. Connect with engineers and determine the color, material, and surface process of the product. Once the surface process is complete, the product is assembled and then simulated to the test.
How it is different
This product stands out from existing pet travel boxes or bags. By rethinking the product structure and integrating the gyroscope balancing principle into the design of a cat travel box, it offers a solution to this user pain point from a brand-new perspective.
Future plans
This design aims to address the stress response issues that pet cats easily experience in unfamiliar and bumpy travel scenarios. Through the production of product models and repeated post-design verifications, the full process of problem-solving has been realized. In the follow-up, the design will be further improved based on the problems encountered during the verification process. This design is just one approach to solving such pain points, and it is hoped that more people will pay attention to the field of pet products and provide more solutions for this market.
