What it does

This system offers closed-loop travel protection for autistic children. It features a projection game outside the car to guide them, and a sphere grip inside for real-time health and emotion monitoring.

Your inspiration

"Children with autism are prone to anxiety and uncontrolled behavior due to the closed environment and uncontrollable travel, while parents need to focus on driving, and it is difficult to appease them in real time, and the traditional in-vehicle entertainment equipment lacks health monitoring and targeted interactive functions. With the development of assistive technology and Internet of Things technology, combined with the study of child psychology, this product realizes the closed loop of health data tracking-emotional intelligent recognition multimodal appeasement intervention through the car robot,

How it works

"Autistic children car companion robot, the whole is a sphere, both sides have a grip built-in sensors, can detect and monitor children's health data, children's emotions, etc., and transmitted to the parent terminal cell phone app; children's seats set up in front of the curtain, can be games, TV, etc., projection (by the companion robot projection and independent calibration, screen tracking function), the curtain storage device mounted on the roof of the car; the child's hand grip can be Game operation, animation selection, etc., or by the parents to choose; children's emotional instability, the robot to soothe (please give possible ways to soothe here); curtain storage device also has a projection function, applied to the children before getting on the car to create an attraction for children to get on the car outside the game scene (such as the projection of the stars, so that the children step on the stars in order to collect the stars to get on the car);

Design process

"1. Basic prototype (3D printed sphere + manual projection) to verify the functional feasibility, found the curtain offset and appeasement failure; 2. Through the dynamic calibration of the gyroscope and multi-modal appeasement (temperature control / aromatherapy) to improve the reliability; 3. Deepen the scene adaptation, optimize the magnetic charging anti-misalignment structure, and through the silicone anti-slip and voice interaction to reduce the threshold of use, and ultimately achieve the on-board guidance - driving supervision - intelligent appeasement. Closed loop, so that the frequency of children's anxiety is reduced, and the load of parents' operation is reduced.

How it is different

"Covering the whole chain of on-board guidance (out-of-vehicle projection)-travel monitoring (non-contact grip sensing)-dynamic appeasement (cross-sensory strategy), breaking through the limitations of single-point functions of competing products (such as in-vehicle tablets only for entertainment/wristbands that need to be worn), and systematically solving the problems of autistic children's resistance to traveling, the burden of monitoring, and the problem of parental distraction through the AI emotional heat maps and voice interaction for driving safety.

Future plans

"Deepen the low-cost prototype, optimize the emotional algorithm through the campus community's real test; impact the design competition to polish the product logic; develop the detachable teaching aids module to expand the home scenario, and apply for the patent of dynamic projection calibration simultaneously, so as to transform the academic innovation into a sustainable social solution.
