What it does
People could turn the circuit on by pushing the plug down, and turn it off by pushing the plug again. The Push&Push patch board would simplify the procedure and improve the safety.One-armed & aged don’t have to use two hands to pull the plug out. Just press!
Your inspiration
When we use the patch board, we found that people have to use two hands to pull the plug out easily and safely. That 's hard for the one-arm disabled persons and some olds. Even the normal persons would feel inconvenient about pulling the plug out when the patch board isn't in the right place.Meanwhile,people always have to bow down and get into the tiny space under the table, that's an awful thing. So we invent this Push&Push patch board to bring convenience. Even one arm disabled persons can easily take the plug out. When the patch board is hidden under the table, people can just step on it, and then they can take the plug out.
How it works
Push&Push is made of upper cover, pedestal and moving part. Beside the the moving part are the heart-shaped groove. By the movement of pull rod in the groove and the compression of spring, the moving part is able to control the circuit.
Design process
Building 3D model, designing and analysising the moving elements and the arrangement of sheet copper. we met many problems and we solved them one by one. For example, the sheet coppers are placed in the middle, but by these arrangement the sheet copper would block the movement of the moving part, so we rearrange the sheet copper. The Push&Push patch board is the original model ,when we get funded, we would go to the next stage.
How it is different
Let the user pressing the patch board by one hand is a great help for the disabled and the aged. The structure inside is innovative . The "piano keys" patchboard is safe and convenient and also fun and beautiful.
