What it does

The device protects from pollen allergies, makes people's microclimate comfortable during walks. It is a wearable humidifier on a neck. With this device an allergic person will feel himself great in a flowering garden.

Your inspiration

According to statistics, every fifth inhabitant of the Earth suffers from seasonal allergies. The number of these people is constantly growing. Taking allergy pills, a person harms other organs, and the masks look completely unaesthetic. I'm worried about this problem, so I decided to come up with something new, some other protection mechanism.

How it works

The basis of this method is a deposition of pollen by particles of steam. A humidifier of air will create a barrier near the person's face. The device operates with two batteries located in a control unit. Batteries feed two ultrasonic membranes that convert water into cold steam. This vapor is sprayed through the nozzles into the face area. The device can work autonomously for 2 hours. To replenish the tanks, a person needs to pour water through a hole in a control unit. Water on pipes will evenly fill tanks.

Design process

I investigated the problem of people suffering from allergies, studied analogues, revealed their advantages and disadvantages. I wanted to come up with a completely different mechanism of protection from pollen. I thought about weighting the pollen. Next, I studied the operation of the home air humidifier. Based on these studies, I formulated a technical assignment for the development of a wearable air humidifier, powered by batteries.

How it is different

This method of protection against pollen hasn't been used yet. Also, it's a portable air humidifier, while existing ones are table-top decisions.

Future plans

I would like to increase an operating time of the device.
